I want to create interesting paintings. Paintings that invite the viewer to participate in the mental completion of the work, thus transforming a passive viewer into an active participant of the creative process. My artwork is created by painting on glass and transferring the imprint to paper using a technique called Monotype. Each artwork is original and unique. Each mark placed on the glass is permanent, leaving no room for error and creating a sense of immediacy and exploration. Graduating from York University in Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts, I continued my studies in classical painting at Repin Academy of fine arts in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Although from a first glance my style of work may seem anything but academic, I actively employ all the pillars of traditional painting school yet allowing room for surprise and discovery.

PEPPINO CAPUANO JEWELRY

A TREASURE IN ROME

In 1960 Peppino and Vincenzo Capuano from Naples inaugurated their new atelier in Via Condotti inside Palazzo Caffarelli, thus enriching the legacy of quality craftsmanship characteristic of the historic boutiques and shops in the center of Rome.

The Roman 'maison' immediately gained renown for its unique designs, created and interpreted with 'cheerfulness and imagination', as always in the Capuano style.

Many 'artists' that have enriched their story of anecdotes: the gold chain welded to the beautiful Brigitte Bardot, the actresses Ursula Andress and Joan Crawford, Luchino Visconti wanted only jewels with personality for his films and finally sketching a hand drawn by their dear friend Guttuso.

Not to mention the collection of countless sketches, each with its own story, made with extravagance to give shape to the most bizarre desires, to the realization of a unique jewel. Even more unique because it is personalized by the imagination of the person who chooses it.

Handcrafting is the key element of our work and history, exclusively Made in Italy. Particularly outstanding is the carving on gems and semi-precious stones, the delicately customized hand-drilled pendants in gold and silver and the enamel jewels.

Sergio Capuano, an engineer with a strong artistic instinct and his son Federico, surprise you now in their elegant showroom, a cosy niche in the heart of the Eternal City!

Sbagliato is an art project founded in 2011 by three Roman architects and designers, which stems from the desire to generate interferences in the urban fabric, creating “gaps” within the rigid order of architectures. This need is expressed and carried out through the use of posters, perfect means of communication thanks to their ephemeral nature and mimetic qualities, which are also distinctive features of the group’s vision. SBAGLIATO’s visionary installations are the result of a synergy between architecture, graphics, photography and collage, through which architectural elements can be “sampled”, processed and re-presented in an urban context, in an heterogeneous but not random manner. In recent years SBAGLIATO have participated to numerous public art manifestations including Life Is Beautiful in Las Vegas, ALT!rove Festival in Catanzaro, Cheap Festival in Bologna, Memorie Urbane Street Art Festival in Gaeta and many other events around the world. In 2015 they exhibited at the historical Galleria Toselli in Milan and at the Ex Dogana in Rome, where in 2016 they took part to the exhibition Il Paradiso Inclinato, next to major artists such as Alighiero Boetti and Sol LeWitt.

IVANA NOTO

"Although I was born in Pforzheim, West Germany, I am the daughter of Sicilian parents. In 1982, we moved to Sicily, and since an early age, I have been strongly interested in everything around me – my home, my family, my surroundings. My eyes capture everything, always looking for more, for what is different. For this reason, when I got older, I moved to Rome – a world in itself compared to my previous landscape. There my curiosity grew and I felt increasingly touched and intrigued by the way people look and express themselves, to the point of losing myself inside those around me.

So during my studies at Rome University, I felt compelled to capture those expressions by endlessly taking photographs. I also have professional experience in communications, a sector in which I have worked for 10 years. At the same time, I have continued to pursue my passion by studying and focusing on photography. Finally, I can see that devoting myself to it, fully and completely, was a foregone conclusion. My true love is to immortalize spontaneous beauty. I believe that to take a perfect photo is to capture a perfect instance in time. For that reason, I believe there is an ideal continuity between my subject and myself. I love to discover that exact right moment, to catch it, and to help it become art.”
