Spirit Felt Hat

Lina Osorio Design

The Molas of the Gunadule Community, which are the textiles that appear on the brim of the hats, the tops of the hats and on the caps, have different meanings: 1. Each woman sleeps with these textiles attached to her belly as a method of protection. 2. Molas that show a labyrinth mean the spirit of the palm. The palm is a plant whose leaves are used for the roof of the traditional house.

Felt top: 100% wool.

Textile Brim: Mola.

Detail: Failure Band.

Origin: Sandoná, Nariño and Guandule Community, Colombia.

Note: Because it is a handmade product there might be a slight variation from the colours in the photo.
