About Vattea's Designer
VATTEA was born in Medellín, Colombia, from the union of Laura and Ana María Maya Silva, two sisters who, upon finishing their career in jewelry production and industrial design respectively, decided to create their jewelry brand in 2016.
They elaborate each piece with great detail and care in the manual processes, the work with the hand-cooked and starched threads is the result of a research process with natural starches that has managed to obtain an impeccable manufacture.
We are inspired by diverse ancestral cultures and their representations through objects and symbols, we take colors as references of Colombian folklore to evoke the warmth and strength of Latin women.

About Vattea's Designs
VATTEA's base material is bronze. Each piece is given a texture or polished to give this rustic effect that is seen in our jewerly, each piece is then bathed in 24-carat gold. Cotton thread is another of the materials that characterizes us, it goes through processes such as hand sewing and then starched with natural starches. Our result is impeccable pieces with great craftsmanship value.
Our artisan processes are developed by people from our community, we have mothers who are heads of families, people with mild disabilities and former inmates. They are responsible for sewing the threads, starching, finishing and packaging. Some work from home and others come to our workshop. We participate in providing decent jobs.
